Safety
Safety is the cornerstone of our corporate philosophy and operating procedures. We believe that no job is so important that it cannot be completed in the safest manner possible. Our full time safety superintendent and safety van are in the field everyday, promoting our program and assisting our employees and customers in their safety needs. Our site safety van is equipped with all the equipment and resources needed to keep our jobsites in compliance with our safety program. We provide a 100% drug free workforce and are a Georgia Certified Drug Free Employer.
Our management team has years of experience and training in safety best practices. Our President, Carol Heaton, started her career over 25 years ago with the company as the full time safety director, and her commitment to the team safety approach is still foremost today in the guiding principles of our corporate culture. Our Sr. Vice President, Stephen Carter, is recognized within the Atlanta construction industry for his expertise and knowledge in crane safety, having served as the chairman of the Georgia AGC Safety and Health Committee. He holds numerous certifications including NCCCO practical examiner status.
All of our employees receive extensive, ongoing training. Many of our crane operators are CCO certified with multiple competency ratings. In addition, our partnership with the Local 926 of the Operating Engineers provides our employees with training in OSHA regulations, forklift certification, MSHA certification, DOT compliance, and drug free workplace requirements.
Our preventive maintenance program ensures that our equipment is operated in the safest manner possible. We have three certified crane inspectors on staff to ensure that we are compliant with all regulatory requirements and our equipment is in safe and efficient working condition.
An important component of our safety program is our relationship with our insurers and risk management team. We provide the best insurance coverage available in our industry and work very closely with our customers to ensure that all risks are identified and appropriately insured. We take very seriously our overall risk management program and train our employees to do the same.
